Steven Vogel Early Career Researcher Award

Bioinspiration & Biomimetics, is thrilled to announce the winner of the Bioinspiration & Biomimetics 2023 Steven Vogel Early Career Researcher Award is Dr Yufeng (Kevin) Chen, MIT, USA. This award recognises early career excellence in the journal's field, and is open to researchers in the 10 years after completing their PhD. Dr. Chen has developed multimodal insect-scale robots that can demonstrate insect-like locomotive capabilities in complex environments. He also developed the first biomimetic soft aerial robot that is driven by power-dense artificial muscles. His work is highly interdisciplinary, combining biomimetics, robotics, and physics.

We welcome your nominations for 2024 Steven Vogel Early Career Researcher Award
